CWE Group United for a Beach Cleanup at Kezailiao in Kaohsiung, with Over 90 Employees Taking on the Role of Environmental Guardians
Chang Wah Electromaterials Inc. (CWE), Chang Wah Technology Co., Ltd. (CWTC), and JMC Electronics Co., Ltd. (JMC) organized a beach cleanup event on December 14, 2024. The initiative was led by CWE Group founder Canon Huang, CWE and CWTC Chairman Chuen-Sing Hung, and JMC Deputy General Manager Mei-Hsueh Huang. A total of 92 employees became environmental guardians at the Kezailiao beaches in Kaohsiung. By actively participating in the cleanup, the event aimed to raise awareness about the severity of marine waste pollution and inspire reflection on the sustainable use of environmental resources in everyday life, reinforcing the Group’s commitment to advancing ESG goals.
CWE and CWTC Chairman Chuen-Sing Hung emphasized the importance of corporate social responsibility, particularly given that half of CWE Group's revenue is derived from the manufacturing sector. “Taiwan is blessed with stunning coastlines, and the ocean plays a crucial role in maintaining climate balance. Unfortunately, marine waste pollution has become a pressing concern. By utilizing the Company’s resources, we mobilize our employees to unite at Kezailiao beaches in Kaohsiung, showcasing our dedication to protecting the Earth through beach cleanup efforts,” he stated.
Prior to the cleanup, a briefing session was held to provide employees with essential knowledge about beach cleaning. The session covered guidelines on identifying collectable items, handling waste safely, and preventing injuries during the activity. Equipped with this knowledge, along with the necessary gear and tools, the team launched into action. Despite the strong winds and chilly weather at Kezailiao, employees worked diligently throughout the morning, successfully collecting 13 bags of trash, totaling 55 kilograms. CWE Group hopes that through such activities, employees can join hands to contribute to environmental protection and build a sustainable future.
